BCAAs are three essential amino acids, namely Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine, which are metabolised in the muscle, unlike all other amino acids (in a general way) which are metabolised in the liver. The combination of these essential amino acids makes up almost a third of the skeletal muscles in the human body and play a very important role in protein synthesis.
