RESPIBIEN

Respibien belongs to the group of medicines known as sympathomimetics, and can be distributed without prescription in any pharmacy, as is the case of Farmaciasdirect, which is accredited by the Spanish Medicines Agency for the distribution and sale of this type of product.

It is a nasal decongestant medicine containing oxymetazoline as its active ingredient. Oxymetazoline administered through the nose causes local constriction of the blood vessels, decongesting the nasal mucosa. Respibien antiallergic is a specific variant of the product designed for people who also suffer from allergies, helping to relieve nasal congestion caused by allergic reactions. It is indicated for the local and temporary relief of nasal congestion in adults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age.

Side effects: Like all medicines, Respibien may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Possible side effects include dryness or irritation of the nasal mucosa, sneezing and, in rare cases, more serious effects such as tachycardia or headache.
