Farmaciasdirect, CTT award for best website and app

The leading pharmacy and para-pharmacy in the Iberian Peninsula, Farmaciasdirect has won the CTT e-Commerce award, beating multinationals El Corte Inglés and Worten in the final. In this way, the awards organisation wanted to recognise the “technological, operational and commercial maturity” of this online pharmacy, as well as for “leading technological implementation in a sector notably shaped by traditional processes”.

The performance of both platforms has led the Seville-based company to become one of the businesses in the Iberian Peninsula with the highest growth rate, holding a fifth of the online pharmaceutical market and recording triple-digit year-on-year turnover growth. The Farmaciasdirect website and app include the design, development and implementation of proprietary technology for the multinational management of its products and services, with a presence in more than 20 European countries, notably Spain and Portugal.

“During our 10 years in business, our main aim has been to bring the care, closeness and the guarantees of a physical pharmacy into the online world. At Farmaciasdirect we offer personalised and free advice to patients in just a single click. Our team of pharmacists provides specific advice on conditions, recommends routines and products, and follows up through our website and app,” explains Antonio Campos, founder and CEO of Farmaciasdirect.

In this edition, the CTT e-Commerce Awards ceremony took place at Quinta da Pimenteira, Lisbon, where the different nominees and leading figures from the business world in both countries came together. Through this competition, the organisation recognises best practices in e-commerce and digital business models with value for people and for the community in Portugal and Spain.

For this year’s edition, now in its 4th year, more than 250 applications were submitted across the different company categories, more than double the previous year. These were: e-commerce initiative for SMEs, Green e-Commerce initiative, local commerce initiative, Public Administration e-commerce initiative, innovation in e-commerce logistics, delivery and returns, innovation in e-commerce security and financial services, and innovation in e-commerce digital marketing.
