Andalucía Directo Visits the Farmaciasdirect Warehouse

Yesterday we welcomed Andalucía Directo, who came to the Farmaciasdirect warehouse to take a closer look at how an online pharmacy works during the health crisis and what hygiene and safety measures we have introduced for order management.

At around 7:30 pm yesterday, Thursday 3 April, Fernando, reporter for Andalucía Directo, and his camera crew visited our facilities to interview Antonio Campos, pharmacist and founder of Farmaciasdirect.

Hygiene and safety measures

During the visit by Andalucía Directo to Farmaciasdirect, Fernando asked Antonio Campos about the issue everyone wants to understand at the moment: how orders are being managed.

In our case, due to this health crisis, we have had to implement a series of hygiene and safety measures across all our facilities and throughout the warehouse team, with the aim of protecting and safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our customers and employees.

As Antonio Campos had already mentioned in another interview with España Directo, he recalled yesterday that since 13 March the warehouse has been disinfected twice a day: once at the end of the morning shift and again at the end of the afternoon shift.

In addition to everyone working with masks and gloves, contact between colleagues has been reduced, following the WHO recommendations on prevention and safety measures against Covid-19.

The remaining departments (Customer Service, marketing, pricing and accounting) have been working from home since Monday 16 March, in order to continue offering a quality service and keep all our followers informed about the latest known updates.

Our pharmacists Mercedes and Cristina are responsible for this final point: once information has been checked against official sources, they share it through our online channels. They also offer personalised advice to all users who have questions about products or treatments.

Online orders

Another question concerned the orders received in recent weeks, whether the number had increased and whether demand had also risen for essential products (gloves, masks, medicines, food supplements...).

In the case of Farmaciasdirect, being an online pharmacy allows us to sell medicines that do not require a medical prescription.

This, together with people's fear of leaving home and the authorities' express request not to go out unless strictly necessary, has led many customers to order these medicines and other parapharmacy products online.

Essential products

Regarding the laboratories we work with and the high demand for products, Fernando asked whether our warehouse is operating normally these days or whether estimated delivery times may be affected. At Farmaciasdirect, as mentioned above, we have expanded the team so that everyone can access their essential products without leaving home. However, orders do not always reach customers on the planned date because laboratories are struggling to keep up with demand. Even so, the whole team is working flat out to continue offering a quality service. We are currently living through a difficult time and we are sure everyone understands the situation and the great effort being made by workers in different sectors. Every day that passes is one day closer to flattening and bringing down this curve. We have no doubt that together we will achieve it. We are getting closer.
