How long the menopause lasts and common symptoms

This is the stage in a woman's life characterised by the end of menstruation and the beginning of the stage known as the climacteric, the transition between the fertile period and older age. But... how long does the menopause last? At what age does it happen?

It usually appears between the ages of 48 and 54, when women start to lose ovarian function and, as a consequence, the production of female hormones, oestrogens and progesterone decreases.

Stages of the menopause

How long does the menopause last? You have probably asked yourself this more than once. But to understand this process properly, you should know that the menopause is made up of three stages:

  • Premenopause: the period before the menopause.
  • Perimenopause: when the first changes begin to be experienced. This stage usually lasts up to 1 year.
  • Postmenopause: the period that begins after the last menstrual period and continues from then on.

Although there are no fixed time ranges, some women may experience the first symptoms of the menopause for a few months or even for a decade before periods stop completely.

Menopause: causes and symptoms

Symptoms include insomnia, changes in body shape, metabolic changes, irregular cycles, osteoporosis, characterised by reduced bone mass and calcium loss, vaginal dryness, mood changes and more.

Among the factors that influence the menopause, smoking, because it is linked to oestrogen loss, increases the risk of bone fractures and osteoporosis.

So does a sedentary lifestyle; leading an active life and exercising several times a week can help slow this menopausal stage and effects such as diabetes and cardiovascular risks.

Aquilea Menopausia

One of the options offered by Aquilea is this food supplement in a 60-capsule format for the menopause.

It is a natural way to help reduce the hot flushes and heat sensations that often appear during this stage of a woman's life, thanks to its composition based on Andean maca and soya isoflavones, soothing plants that help combat lack of vitality and energy, reduced sexual desire and hot flushes.

As for how to take it, take 2 capsules a day, preferably with breakfast.

Aquilea Menopausia Plus

This is the other alternative from Aquilea. This food supplement in a 30-capsule format helps relieve the hot flushes mentioned at the start of the video, as well as sweating and other symptoms that cause discomfort.

Its formula is enriched with trace elements and vitamins such as vitamin D3, related to calcium absorption and regulation, which contributes to the normal maintenance of bones. It also contains vitamin K, for the blood clotting process and bone maintenance, vitamin D, magnesium oxide and zinc oxide...

In this case, take 1 capsule a day, also with breakfast.
