Ovusitol Gluzem sachets are a product specially designed to regulate blood glucose levels during pregnancy. At this stage, there is an increase in substances such as cortisol, prolactin and placental lactogen, active substances which increase the mother's glucose levels to ensure that the developing baby obtains the glucose necessary for its correct development. However, sometimes this increase is excessive, leading to complications for both mother and baby.
Factors that increase the risk of excessive blood sugar levels in pregnancy include age, being overweight, having had multiple pregnancies or a family history, which is why Gluzem combines myo-inositol, vitamin D3 and chromium, active ingredients that help to balance normal blood glucose levels.
