Beta Alanine is a non-essential amino acid synthesised in the liver which can be ingested through the diet, particularly from animal sources or by supplementation.
Several studies have shown that Beta Alanine promotes the synthesis of carnosine within muscle fibres, significantly raising levels of this substance in muscles.
Its main functions are:
PH regulation, preventing acidity in the body caused by lactate, which delays the onset of fatigue.
Maintenance of ATP reserves, which is the source of energy for cellular functions.
Increasing calcium sensitivity in muscle fibres, increasing strength while reducing fatigue during muscular activity.
