ONTEX

Ontex is a leading international manufacturer of hygiene solutions for baby, feminine and adult care. Our high quality, value-for-money products are distributed in more than 110 countries both through the brands of major distributors and under our own brands.

Their close relationship with the healthcare institutions to which they supply their products dates back to 1979, when they produced and supplied underpads to hospitals, clinics and nursing homes in Belgium. During the 1980s and 1990s they expanded their product range to include incontinence briefs and incontinence pads, disposable nappies and panty liners, and acquired manufacturing and distribution facilities in Europe, the Czech Republic and Turkey. Their first factory outside Europe started operations in China in 2006, soon followed by a manufacturing plant in Algeria. In 2011 they acquired one of Europe's largest suppliers of disposable hygiene products, Lille Healthcare, and opened production facilities in Australia, Russia and Pakistan. In 2013 they expanded their range of incontinence products in Italy with the acquisition of the Serenity brand. June 2014 is the date of their most recent milestone: Ontex is listed on the Euronext stock exchange in Belgium, giving us a solid financial base with which to continue to develop new products, work with customers and pursue new markets. The strategic acquisition of the P.I Mabe Group in 2016 accelerates the transformation. The Ontex platform is expanding beyond Western Europe, further penetrating growth markets. The acquisition of the personal hygiene business Hypermarcas S.A. marks another important milestone in its ongoing transformation process. This new step extends the market position in the Americas to Brazil.
